Creating Unlikely Connections
About The Blank Table
The Blank Table (TBT) seeks to transform San Diego’s culinary culture by igniting a sense of togetherness through cuisine, cocktails, and creativity- all around a blank table. Committed to reinvesting in the local community and native creatives, menus feature sustainable, seasonal and complex flavors while utilizing a broad range of spirits explicitly crafted for each dish.
This multi-sensory evening features a five-course pre-fixe menu with pairings from some of San Diego’s top mixologists. TBT is designed as a secret dinner series, with most of the details- including location and menu- revealed the evening before the event via email with a link to an obscure, unknown and off-the-beaten-path location.
Behind the Table
The Blank Table was founded in 2018 by friends Alexandria Ott and Chef Frederick Keller. Having grown up in Coronado together, the two have been friends since 7th grade. In their early 20's, they reconnected in Chicago, where Alex worked in hospitality PR and Fred was a chef at some of the city's top restaurants. Upon returning to their hometown, they decided to take their experiences from around the world and launch The Blank Table.
Since that first year, The Blank Table has grown and evolved into a sell-out, highly sought-after experience for the San Diego community. With coverage in every major publication in the city, a rotating list of the most creative mixologists and a team that continues to bring new experiences to the public, we can't wait to be back in 2024.
